Studio Brief

The past decade has seen a rapid explosion in the development of generative artificial intelligence tools used to instantly produce stunning images, expressive written text, and life-like audio. Collaborative Futures is a speculative film studio that will examine and critique the rapid adoption of these tools and other potential applications of AI in every day life. We will envision the potential impact of AI on different facets of life in the approaching years, such as health care, societal roles, and human creativity. 

Studio Brief

While crafting these future worlds, students will be challenged to work collaboratively with AI tools such as Midjourney, DALLE, and ChatGPT to imagine human-centered narratives within their AI driven future. Students will work in teams to develop a story, generate concept art, design characters, write dialogue, and envision promotional materials for their film. In addition to these deliverables, students will be asked to critically evaluate the work they create with AI by iterating on the results and rationalizing creative decisions along the way. Ultimately, each student should find a healthy balance between the inspiration they receive from AI and their own creative vision.
