Description 

The Kratky method is a hydroponic gardening technique that uses water to provide plants with nutrients. It's a passive method that doesn't require pumps or electricity.

Instructions 

Follow the activities slides to assemble and begin the growing process of a Kratky hydroponic system. Students can either work individually or in pairs to assemble the jars. Additional, in-depth explanations of this system can be found here and here

Deliverables

Along the process of constructing your Kratky jars, capture pictures of the assembly. Make sure both the pH and PPM of the water measured. Once completed, capture a picture of your seedling at each stage of growth. Ensure your jars are left in an area of adequate sunlight or use a grow light positioned 12" above your plant.
